Windows users can repair Microsoft Word 2010 or any other malfunctioning software through the control panel. To repair a program, open the Start menu, and access the Control Panel. From the Control Panel, select Programs, and then choose Programs and Features. Choose Microsoft Word 2010 or another malfunctioning program, right-click it and select Repair. On the resulting dialogue window, confirm that you want to repair the program.
To repair the click-to-run version of Microsoft Word 2010, left-click on the correct program from the Programs and Features menu, and select Change. Choose to either keep or revert the program settings. If the problem that needs repairing is a settings issue, then revert the program settings. Click the Repair button to proceed.
The click-to-run repairing process is the same across Windows 10, 7 and Vista. For Windows XP, the process is the same except that the user selects Add or Remove Programs at the beginning instead of Programs.
If repairing the software does not work, then the user can uninstall the program and re-install it. To uninstall the software, open the Control Panel, then choose Programs and click Programs and Features. Choose whether to revert or keep the program's settings for later installation, and click Uninstall to confirm.
