To recover your Google account, access the account recovery page on Google.com, enter your username in the appropriate field, and select the desired means of acquiring recovery information. However, the only way to recover the account is to enable the recovery options in the account settings before losing access.
To enable the recovery options, navigate to the account settings page, and click on the Change Password Recovery Options link. Enter the password again to verify your account if prompted. Choose the option to add a recovery email address or a recovery mobile phone number, and click on Edit next to these options to modify the entries if needed. Click the Save button, and close the account settings page.
To use the email recovery option, navigate to the recovery page, and select the email address you set up before losing access to the account. After confirming your decision, Google automatically sends the instructions on how to regain access to the recovery email address. If you selected the mobile phone number option, Google sends a text message containing a code that resets your password. When you receive the code, enter it in the appropriate field on the Text Message Code Verification page. If both options fail, select the option labeled "I no longer have access to these," and answer a series of questions to verify that you own the account.
