Right-click on the current Internet Explorer icon on the desktop, and click Delete. Be sure to delete the icon from the Recycle Bin as well. Alternatively, hold the Shift key, and press Delete while the Internet Explorer icon is highlighted to permanently delete it.
Click the Start menu, and look for the Internet Explorer icon. If the icon is not in the Start menu, search the Programs or All Programs folders.
Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon, and drag it from the Start menu to the desktop. Click Copy Here or Create Shortcut Here to create a new shortcut.
To ensure that the issue is fixed, open Internet Explorer, and check to be sure the browser does not start with add-ons disabled. Contact Microsoft Support if the issue is not resolved.
