Prospective customers can find out how much Verizon prepaid phone plans cost by going to the prepaid section of the Verizon website. The site contains a listing of all the available options to help customers find the most fitting plans.
Prepaid phones do not require a contract commitment, so customers can change their plans or providers easily. There is no activation fee or credit check for prepaid services from Verizon, and plans are available for both smartphones and basic phones.
As of February 2015, Verizon smartphones come with unlimited talk and text and 1 GB of data for $45 a month. Basic phones either have 500 minutes and unlimited text with 500 MB of data for $35 a month, or unlimited talk and text with 500 MB of data for $45 a month.
Customers are not required to purchase a phone from Verizon to use their prepaid services; they have the option of bringing their own phones and buying the SIM activation kit. The kit follows the $45 per month pricing.
Verizon also offers prepaid services for tablets and standalone hot spots known as Jetpacks. Jetpacks allow users to access Wi-Fi on up to 10 devices. The devices must be Wi-Fi enabled.
