Some technology websites offer free Microsoft Office skills tests, including ctsdc.net, wiziq.com and techulator.com. These websites allow the user to pick the test, whether Word, Excel or PowerPoint, and the version of the Microsoft Office software. These websites are in no way associated with Microsoft, and the patterns of testing might be different to the real certification exams that Microsoft offers as of 2015.
Each site offers registration using name and email; however, Wiziq.com allows the user to log in with an existing Facebook account. Some sites, such as ctsdc.net, offer free Microsoft Office lessons as well. Wiziq.com serves individual teachers and trainers, colleges, universities, corporations and test prep companies. Questions for each test range from 10 questions to 60 questions.
These websites don’t limit the number of times a user can take a specific test. The tests are interactive, and some require the user to perform a task with a simulation program. At the end of the process, the user gets immediate results rated on a specific scale. There are time limits for specific questions or for the whole test to reduce cheating. These sites also use randomization of the order of the questions, sections and answer choices to give each user a different assessment.
