Clearing your cookies deletes temporary web data that can slow down your computer. If using Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, scroll down to Safety and click Delete Browsing History. Select the Cookies box, and click Delete. If using Firefox, click on Tools and then click Options. Select Show Cookies, and click Remove All Cookies.
Run a security scan once a week to ensure your system runs as fast as possible. These scans detect and purge viruses, malware and other malicious files that slow down your system.
Updates are generally available a few times per month. When prompted to update your operating system, do so as often as possible.
Unused programs automatically run in the background after boot up, causing severe system lags. To speed up your computer, block unnecessary programs from starting each time your computer boots up. Restrict the number of boot up programs to three or four.
