It is possible to create a JPEG image by saving a picture or graphic or by creating and saving the image in a paint program. The process is similar for both Windows and Mac OS computers.
JPEG, or Joint Photographic Experts Group, is an image compression method. JPEG images can be created from a picture or graphic that is in a different format on a Windows computer by right-clicking the image and saving it in the desired format. The Mac OS offers the Preview option in which the image to be converted should be opened. Save As in the File menu drop-down allows a user to save the image in JPEG format. Additionally, both computer types have an image creation or painting program, which allows the user to save the newly created image as a JPEG.
