Fifty-eight percent of people who use online review sites favor Yelp over other sites, making it possible to find good lawyers on Yelp, states the Daily Record. Sixty-one percent of users also view Yelp as the most trustworthy, according to a survey conducted by Software Advice.
Yelp has remained popular because it is entirely free, something that cannot be said of its competitors. Its increase in traffic from people seeking legal representation is due to its name recognition in the public domain as well as its popularity. The survey found that the site is more popular for legal help than even established law sites such as Super Lawyers.
ABA Journal states that people are willing to go the extra mile to find a lawyer with better reviews, including traveling to an inconvenient location. They often choose this over a more conveniently located counsel with bad reviews. Infobay Web Marketing also states that Yelp receives 139 million visitors every month, as of 2015, and a good percentage of those visitors are shopping for a lawyer.
