One useful function of the IRS website is the link at the top of the page labeled "Refunds." When selecting this link a page appears that provides the option of tracking a tax refund in progress. The page displays steps to take to check the status of a refund. Under the third step on the page, a link leads to a page where the user can enter information such as Social Security number, filing status and the refund amount expected. After all this information is entered and submitted, the status of a refund is displayed.
Another feature of the IRS website is a link labeled "Forms & Pubs." After selecting this link, a page is displayed that allows access to many different forms used for tax filing purposes.
