To download iTunes, visit the Apple iTunes download page and choose between iTunes for Windows or Macintosh. The website automatically detects whether the machine in use runs Windows or Macintosh and defaults the download version, which can be manually changed. Decide whether to receive newsletters from Apple and click the Download Now button to initiate the download.
Right click on the downloaded iTunes installation file and run it as an administrator. Agree to the iTunes' terms and conditions and follow the installation wizard as it progresses. Choose the destination folder in which iTunes is to be installed and opt to add a shortcut to the desktop or use iTunes as the default audio player if desired. Select the default iTunes language and continue the installation. After iTunes is installed, click the Finish button and restart the computer to finish the installation.
After installing iTunes, import music from discs or an existing iTunes account. If this is the first installation of the software, create a new account to buy or download applications, music, podcasts, audiobooks and television shows from the iTunes Store. To keep iTunes up to date, run iTunes and check for updates. If a newer version of the software is found, follow the prompts to download and install it.
