Consumers can find a CD burning tutorial for Windows at Help Desk Geek and Mac OS X at Apple.com. Both tutorials suggest the built-in CD burning tools that come as a part of the operating systems.
Windows automatically opens an AutoPlay window once a blank disc is inserted into the CD drive. Click Burn Files to Disc, name the disc, and choose a burning method. Individuals can either use the disc as a flash drive or as a traditional disc. Click Next, and drag the files to burn into the disc on Windows Explorer. Click Burn to Disc on the banner at the top to initiate the burning process.
On a Mac computer, open the blank disc in Finder, and drag files into the Finder window. Click File on the menu bar at the top, and then click Burn to start burning.
