To cancel an account with AT&T Wireless, formerly Cingular, call 800-331-0500 or dial 611 from an active AT&T wireless device. When prompted, select option three and then four as of 2015. If service is cancelled before the end of a service contract commitment, early termination fees may apply.
It is not possible to cancel AT&T wireless service online or through the myAT&T app.
To see the end date of a contract term, log in to myAT&T online and select Profile. If more than one account is accessible from the User ID in use, then make sure the correct wireless account is selected. Go to the user information tab and select a device to see the associated contract agreement. The end date is shown in the contract information section.
Terminating a contract within the first 14 days of service results in no early termination fee. Devices must be returned in like-new condition to be eligible for return. If the device is not eligible for return, then the remaining cost of the device must be paid in full in order to cancel or service must continue. Early termination fees decline over time and largely depend on the amount of unpaid months left in the service agreement.
