Q:

How can you find cable television providers in your area?

A:

Quick Answer

A number of websites have tools for finding television providers that service a given address, including AllConnect.com, BroadbandExpert.com and InMyArea.com. Users can search for an address or ZIP code on these websites and see a list of available television plans. These tools are not specific to cable, so the results for a given address may include satellite and fiber optic plans.

To use AllConnect.com, visit the website and click the TV link at the top of the page. In the form on that page, enter a street address, unit number and ZIP code. Click the Find TV Services button. To see whether a specific plan is through a cable service, open its details page by clicking the plan title.

BroadbandExpert.com works similarly to AllConnect.com but only uses a ZIP code for its search, not a street address. Navigate to the website, enter a ZIP code into the box at the top of the page and click Compare Now. The results are for TV and Internet bundles; however, clicking the TV Only tab displays plans that are specifically for television.

InMyArea.com also allows ZIP code searches. Select Cable TV on the left and enter a ZIP code. The results will be limited to television plans, and each listing includes whether the plan is for cable, satellite, fiber optics or another technology.
