To bypass an iCloud activation lock on iOS 8 devices, use a custom DNS server. However, use this method with caution because it may not work on all devices and can cause glitches that may not be fixable.
The first step to bypass the lock is to enter the custom DNS server: 18.104.22.168. Then, click on Activation Help in the last activation screen, which redirects the phone to the custom website. This is a temporary bypass used to play games, watch YouTube and more.
To permanently bypass the lock, go to the phone's Applications in Settings and choose Crash Test 1. This application re-springs the device. Next, go to WiFi settings, click on i. On the HTTP Proxy area, select Manual. Here, add 30 emoji icons to the Server input and 8888 in the Port input. Press back, then next and slide to unlock. Press the language options for two to three minutes until redirected to the home screen.
The home screen allows access to the Phone, Newsstand and Facetime. If there was a previous owner, his contact information can be accessed through Facetime or the Phone applications. Ask the previous owner to have the device taken off the iCloud account. To restart the device while bypassing the lock from this point, hold Power and Home.
