Customers of Verizon Wireless can block phone numbers calling their phones by using the website vzw.com/blockcalls. Once at this site, the user needs to log in to his account. Customers can also access this option by selecting Block Calls and Messages when logged in to their My Verizon accounts.
Once a user has logged in to his account online and accessed the Block Calls and Messages option the next step is to select the line that needs to be managed. Then the user simply enters the phone numbers that he wishes to block. After this process, the numbers entered are not able to contact the Verizon customer by phone, text message or picture message for 90 days. The customer does have to block the numbers again after this period, if he wants to continue the block. If a customer wants to unblock a number before 90 days is up, he can do so by deleting the number from the list on the Block Calls and Messages screen.
The Block Calls and Messages option is designed to block up to five numbers at any given time. Verizon also offers a FamilyBase feature that gives customers the option to block up to 20 contacts permanently. Verizon also offers the ability to block picture or video messages, as well as purchases from devices, by using the Block and Unblock Services option.
