To block emails from a specific sender on Gmail, create a filter using the sender's email address as the filtering criteria, and set it to automatically delete all received emails. The filter sends emails received from the specified sender to the Trash folder, where they are deleted after 30 days.
- Log in to your Gmail account
Open a Web browser, and go to Gmail.com. Log in to your Gmail account when prompted.
- Open a message from the sender you want to block
Once logged in, open any message from the sender you want to block.
- Set the filter criteria
Click on the downward-pointing arrow next to the Reply button on the top right of the message. In the resulting pop-up menu, select "Filter messages like this." A dialog box will appear below the Gmail search bar. Check to make sure that the sender's email address is included in the From field.
- Set the filter actions, and save it
Click on the "Create a filter with this search" link at the bottom-right corner of the dialog box. The next step presents you with a list of actions. Check the box next to the "Delete it" option. You can also select other options as you see fit. Click the Create Filter button to complete the process.
