The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 by 720 pixels. The more recent Galaxy S4 and S5 have even bigger screens. The S4 has a 5-inch display, while the S5 screen is 5.1 inches.
Samsung, which means "three stars" in Korean, was founded on March 1, 1938 by Byung-Chull Lee in Taegu, Korea. In the beginning, Samsung was not in the technology business. Instead, it sold fruit, fish and vegetables to China. Samsung did not have an electronics division until 1969, and it began producing a black and white television in 1970.
