AskJeeves.com is not in use and redirects to Ask.com, as of 2015. Ask Jeeves changed to Ask.com in an attempt to gain market share in 2006.
Founded in 1996, Ask Jeeves started as a search engine. The original Ask Jeeves site tried to distinguish itself by working with searches written in conversational language. IAC/InterActiveCorp purchased the site in 2006 for nearly $2 billion and quickly announced plans to relaunch the site as Ask.com
After rebranding in 2006, Ask.com was unable to gain enough market share as a search engine to become profitable. In 2010, Ask.com changed direction to focus on being a question and answer site.
