Consumers can visit brands’ websites to apply for free product samples, sweepstakes and giveaways. There are also sites, such as PINCHme, Smiley360 and CrowdTap, that allow registered members to apply for freebies using their platform.
Consumers must create a user profile on PINCHme before applying for free product samples from Garnier, Kraft, Advil, Suave and other manufacturers. Site members then choose the products they’re interested in. PINCHme sends the selected product samples, which are subject to availability, and members are asked to provide feedback on their product experiences. Members are sometimes rewarded with additional free products for their time.
Smiley360 and CrowdTap work in a similar way. Smiley360 users provide lifestyle information, which allows them to receive specialized offers and freebies from new and established brands. CrowdTap users specify which products they like and sometimes participate in surveys through Facebook. They can then apply for product samples from manufacturers, and they can win gift cards for such stores as Amazon and Sephora.
GoFreebies.com, Freeflys.com and Hunt4Freebies.com are aggregator sites where consumers can apply for free stuff from a wide variety of sources. Free product samples for beauty, food, kids and pet products are available.
There are also Facebook groups dedicated to helping people find free stuff. Users must have a Facebook account, and they only need to send a message to take advantage of an offer.
