To find answers to questions on IRS.gov, as of 2015, click Help & Resources, and then select the type of questions under Technical Support to view the answers. The questions and answers fall into different categories, such as Direct Pay, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, Get Transcript and Refund.
The Help & Resources page also provides information on frequently asked questions about fraud, identify theft and phishing, payments, and tax records. Click the Get a Response to Your Tax Question button located on the left-hand side of the Help & Resources page to view more questions and answers about different topics on the website. The topics fall into smaller subcategories such as the Affordable Care Act, general filing questions, deductions, credits and income. Click on a specific question from the provided categories to view the answer.
Alternatively, go to the top-right corner of the home page, and click Information For, and then select your identity from the shortcut menu. For example, if you want to view IRS information as an individual, click the Individuals link on the shortcut menu. The new page provides important information for individuals, including a list of common questions and their answers. If you have further questions that are not listed on the IRS website, contact the support team for answers.
