To create a Wish List, an Amazon.com account is necessary. Once registered, click on the Wish List button on the website to make a menu drop down. Choose Create a Wish List from the menu to create an empty Wish List. Once a list is created, Amazon.com offers a list of suggested products to add, such as bestselling music and movies. Users are free to add from the suggestions or browse the site and add items at will.

Users are allowed to have multiple Wish Lists at once, and Amazon.com offers several features to differentiate lists from one another. Under the List Actions category, an option to edit list names is given. The second option under this category is Update List Profile, which allows users to designate who the list is for and what address to ship the items to if purchased as a gift by another user. The Share button at the top of the page allows users to easily submit their Wish List for viewing by emailing the list to someone personally, or posting the list to social media websites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
