Adobe After Effects is a motion graphics compositing application that is used in film-making. The main purpose of this application is the creation of cinema visual effects.

Adobe After Effects is a layer-based application. Each still image, audio clip and video clip is a separate track that can be mixed with the other tracks. The interface of the application consists of a few main panels. The Project panel holds the raw media to be cut and sequenced in the Timeline panel. Layer order and timing can be adjusted in the Timeline panel. The Composition panel displays all items under the current time marker.
