Windows 7 allows users to adjust a variety of mouse and pointer settings through the Control Panel interface. Some desktops and laptops may utilize a third-party device.
- Open the Start menu
The icon for the Start menu is usually located in the bottom-left corner of your screen. It has a Microsoft Windows logo. Many keyboards have a hotkey to bring up the Start menu. The hotkey has the same logo on it.
- Click on Control Panel
This brings up a window with a small search box in the upper-right corner. Click on the text box, and type the word "mouse."
- Select the appropriate option
On the left side of the window is a list of choices under the heading Mouse. There are a number of different for adjusting the mouse pointer. Choose the one that matches the type of adjustment you wish to make. Clicking an option brings up the appropriate setting adjustments.
