The University of Oklahoma's website is ou.edu. The website has information about the school for both current and prospective students, as well as for alumni, parents and faculty.
The University of Oklahoma was founded in 1890 by the Oklahoma Territorial Legislature. By 1895, 100 students were enrolled, and the school had 4 faculty members. As of 2015, the school boasts a student population of more than 30,000. OU, a doctoral-granting research university, selected its signature colors of crimson and white in 1895. The colors were originally crimson and "corn," but because local merchants struggled to choose the right color for corn, the secondary color was later changed to white.
