To activate an AT&T MicroCell, register the product, connect the device to the Internet, connect the device to a power outlet, and then wait 90 minutes. At the end of that time, activation is complete as long as the 3G light on the device remains illuminated.
Register the AT&T MicroCell online via the AT&T website. Once the device activates, connect the MicroCell to the Internet via the Ethernet cord, which attaches to the router. If high-speed Internet is not available, connect the Ethernet cord to the computer port in the MicroCell. Then take another Ethernet cord and connect it between the Ethernet port on the modem and the port on the MicroCell.
At this point, connect the device to the power outlet with the power adapter, and wait until the GPS signal light begins to flash. It can take up to 90 minutes for the MicroCell to activate fully, and the device may start and turn off during this process.
To confirm that the activation process is complete, a confirmation message arrives via email and text message, and the 3G light on the MicroCell is green and solid. In addition, the cell phone display shows AT&T M-Cell or AT&T MicroCell. If it says AT&T only, the activation did not fully complete.
