The X1 platform also displays channel information in the Guide Window. When the user searches for a channel that is not in their line up, pressing the OK brings them to the nearest available channel. Ultimately, users can still navigate to unavailable channels, but the user is prompted with a subscription message.

The DTA platform allows users to browse channel selections with directional keys that have been mapped to the 2, 4, 6 and 8 buttons, with the 5 button acting as the OK key. The TV Listings section provides the traditional grid view, similar to the X1 setup. The DTA platform also provides a SmartBar, similar to X1's Guide Window, except with less information provided on the channel and more setting options available to the user, such as Setup and Remote Help. The user can turn off the SmartBar by selecting Setup, Guide Setup, and then SmartBar timeout.
