A 4G home Internet service uses cell towers to provide Internet over a mobile data network. This may be useful for those who want a more affordable alternative to cable or wireless Internet or live in an area where these options are unavailable.
As of 2014, 4G Internet service may be obtained through providers such as Clear Internet, Sprint and Verizon. These companies provide data plans and all equipment necessary to access the Internet. Alternatively, a SIM card and monthly unlimited data plan may be purchased from a mobile provider that offers this service. A 3G or 4G router also is necessary for the service to work. After inserting the SIM card into the router, the user has home access to 4G Internet.
