How Wide Is a Football Field?

An American football field is 160 feet wide and 360 feet long. The field is surrounded by a white border which is 6 feet wide. All of the border area is out-of-bounds.

The end zones are 30 feet deep. The goal line is in the end zone, and players score touchdowns when the ball is on, above or over the goal line. Goal posts are required to be painted bright gold and must be 18 1/2 feet wide. The crossbar must be 10 feet off the ground, and the vertical posts are required to extend a minimum of 30 feet above the crossbar.
