The National Football League's Dallas Cowboys is a storied franchise that has won five Super Bowls and has had many top players on their roster, including quarterbacks like Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. Staubach and Aikman are both enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio and have won Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Awards. Other players who have stood behind the center while playing for Dallas include Tony Romo, Danny White, Craig Morton and Don Meredith.
Aikman ranks as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. During his 12 seasons, all with Dallas, Aikman passed for 32,942 yards and 165 touchdowns. The Cowboys won three Super Bowls while Aikman was quarterback: Super Bowl XXVII in 1992, beating the Buffalo Bills; Super Bowl XXVIII in 1993, again against the Bills; and Super Bowl XXX in 1995, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Aikman won the Super Bowl MVP Award based on his performance in Super Bowl XXVII, completing 22 of 30 passes and throwing for four touchdowns.
Staubach played for 11 seasons, all with the Cowboys. He passed for 22,700 yards and 153 touchdowns. Staubach was the MVP of Super Bowl VI, completing 12 of 19 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins. He also led the Cowboys to victory in Super XII against the Denver Broncos, as well as losses to the Steelers in Super Bowl X and Super Bowl XIII.
