Regulation volleyballs typically weigh 10 ounces. However, there are different types of materials along with a variety of volleyball types, which may cause volleyballs to weigh slightly more or less than the typical weight.
A standard indoor volleyball often weighs between 9.2 and 9.9 ounces while youth indoor volleyballs and beach volleyballs tend to weigh the same amount, falling between 9.2 and 9.9 ounces as well. When measured in grams, this weight translates to between 260 and 280 for the three types of volleyballs. Youth volleyballs are typically smaller and lighter weight than adult indoor volleyballs. Beach volleyballs are generally a bit larger than the typical indoor volleyball and often have a lower internal pressure.
