To make sun tanning oil, blend coconut oil, pure lanolin and black tea. Apply the mixture to the skin before tanning to accelerate the tanning process.
- Make the black tea
Boil 3/4 cup of water in a tea kettle, pot or in the microwave for a few minutes. Turn the burner off, and remove the water from the burner. Steep three bags of black tea in the water for 10 minutes.
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender
In a blender, add 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup pure lanolin and 1/4 cup of the black tea. Blend the mixture for several seconds, then stop and add the remaining black tea. Continue blending the mixture until the oil is evenly blended.
- Store the mixture in a squeeze container, and apply the lotion
Pour the lotion into an empty squeeze container, such as a clean, empty baby oil bottle or ketchup bottle that's been cleaned. Squeeze a quarter-size amount of oil onto your hand, and gently rub it on your skin before tanning.
- Take precautions before tanning
To prevent a sunburn, set a timer for 15 minutes before tanning under the sun or in a tanning bed. The lotion can also stain clothing, so use caution when applying the lotion around clothes.
