As of the second week of the 2015 college football season, the top five teams listed in the Associated Press include Ohio State, Alabama, TCU, Michigan State and Baylor. Each school finished among the top seven in the final 2014 poll. Ohio State received 59 first-place votes, and Michigan State, two.
The AP Top 25 Poll is determined through the votes of 61 broadcasters and sportswriters from across the country. In the balloting process, each voter ranks schools from one to 25. Twenty-five points are awarded for each first-place vote, 24 for a second-place vote, 23 for a third-place vote and so on. Arrangement in the poll is determined by the total number of points each school receives.
