The Associated Press (AP) poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll, the two major top 25 college basketball polls, are released each week during the men's and women's college basketball season. Both polls are released on Mondays.
The Coaches Poll consists of 32 head coaches at Division I universities, with each coach submitting a top 25 list. Each first place vote is worth 25 points, with point values descending to one point for a 25th place vote.
The AP poll involves 65 sports writers and broadcasters from across the United States, with votes that are tallied in the same way as the Coaches Poll.
The names of voters in both polls are also published.
