How Do You Find the Time for the Daytona 500 Green Flag?

The start time or green flag for the Daytona 500 is available on NASCAR.com. Click on 2016 Tickets from the Schedule & Results drop-down menu. Beginning in 2015, the new start time for Daytona 500 is 1 p.m. EST.

The Daytona 500 Sprint Cup race has been in Daytona Beach, Florida since its inauguration in 1959. The race covers 500 miles over 200 laps on a 2.5-mile course. Michael Waltrip, who clocked in at 2:02:08 in 2003, holds the fastest race time. Although the Indianapolis 500 has a larger attendance, the Daytona 500 has had more television viewers since 1995. It is known as the Super Bowl of stock car racing.
