Who Is Tiger Woods?


Tiger Woods is a professional golfer active on the Professional Golfers Association tour. In his career, he has won 79 PGA tournaments including four Masters Tournament championships, three U.S. Open victories and three PGA Championship crowns.

Tiger Woods won the PGA Rookie of the Year award in 1996, however, he first became known to audiences from his appearance on The Mike Douglas Show at age 2 where he putted against comedian Bob Hope. Golf Digest featured him in its publication when he was five years old. Wood's real first name is Eldrick and he gets his nickname "Tiger" from the a Vietnamese soldier who was a friend of Wood's father.
