Abilene, Galveston Island and Hill Country are among the 16 Texas state parks that have full-use cabins. Another 12 state parks, including Brazos Bend, San Angelo and Tyler, have limited-use cabins.
Two state parks within the full-use cabin group, Cooper Lake and Martin Creek Lake, also have limited-use cabins.
Most full-use cabins are larger in size, accommodate more people, and include amenities such as kitchen appliances and full bathrooms. Limited-use cabins have some of the full-use amenities but few handle more than five people.
To determine the full daily rental cost, add the state or local tax assessed on hotel or motel rooms to the advertised cabin rate.
