As of September 2014, striper fishing is allowed on the Delaware River. During closed season, all stripers caught must be immediately released. Violators of this regulation could be prosecuted.

In New York, the open season is from March 16 through Nov. 30 with a daily limit of one striper. In Pennsylvania, the open season is between April 1 and May 31 with a daily limit of two stripers. In New Jersey, the open season is March 1 through Dec. 31 with a daily limit of two stripers. During open season, anglers fishing the Delaware River from the New Jersey shoreline or returning to New Jersey by boat must follow New Jersey’s striper regulations.
