The fastest soccer ball ever kicked had a speed of 132 miles per hour. Brazilian soccer player Ronny Heberson is responsible for this kick.
This kick dates back to 2006 when Heberson played for Sporting Lisbon. The team was competing against Naval and Heberson kicked the ball at the 88-minute mark for the game. Heberson is a fullback and his kick is currently in the Guinness Book of World Records. Only one other soccer player comes close to this speed; in 1996, David Hirst kicked a soccer ball at 114 miles per hour in a game where his team the Sheffield Wednesday played Arsenal.
