To register a new SkyCaddie device, users will need a USB cable, the product itself and the product's electronic serial number (ESN) or access code. Registration can be completed on the SkyGolf website.
The SkyCaddie's electronic serial number is located in one of three places. Find it near the barcode on the back of the unit, on the unit's packaging or by starting the software and going to "Settings" and "Info."
The SkyCaddie's access code can be found when the device is powered up and connected to Wi-Fi. Each device connects to Wi-Fi in a different way, depending on the model.
Once registered, the SkyCaddie offers its users features such as detailed maps of courses, specific distances to the center of the green and the exact size of various bunkers on a course. SkyCaddie provides the answers to many "How far" questions with more accuracy than many GPS systems.
SkyCaddie is accurate because each golf course is plotted by hand. Mappers physically walk each course, making them accurate to within a yard. This technique gives the SkyCaddie the advantage over lasers and other GPS devices. By having an outline of each course, the golfer has the ability to greatly improve his game.
