Full Answer

The first Model 25 rifles were a slide-action type introduced in 1885. They were initially designed to compete with similar models from Colt and Winchester that were popular at the time. Production continued until at least 1910. The pump-action variant of the Model 25 was introduced in 1923 and stayed in production until 1935. Roughly 33,000 were produced during this time. Though the line has been mostly discontinued, Remington still offers an R-25 hunting rifle in a variety of calibers.
