What Is Q-Racing?

Q-Racing is the abbreviated form of "American Quarter Horse racing." The quarter horse is a compact and muscular breed known for its ability to sprint short distances at fast speeds. The fastest quarter horses are known to cover distances of a quarter mile in 21 seconds or less.

The Amarillo, Texas-based American Quarter Horse Association is dedicated to the improvement, preservation and record-keeping of the breed, while also sanctioning competitive events throughout the year. The organization was formed in 1940 and now includes more than 350,000 members, making it the largest breed registry and membership organization in the world, as of 2015.
