The indoor swimming pool at the Southside Aquatics Center is a six-lane competition pool measuring 25-yards long. It includes two diving boards, an instructional area with a slide and a plunge area that is handicap accessible. Family changing areas are provided, and the aquatics center building also includes classroom space, meeting rooms and a party room.
The Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center has both an indoor and outdoor pool. A large, windowed dome houses the indoor pool giving it an outdoor feel year-round. All of the Norfolk pools have both marked lanes for lap swimming and recreational areas. The outdoor pools are open seasonally while indoor pools have open swim hours year-round.
Patrons need to pay a fee to swim at public pools or have a Norfolk Parks and Recreation facility-use identification card. Cards are available for a fee at all indoor swimming pool locations.Learn more about Swimming
