Additional study material, as well as regularly updated rule changes, are available on the NFHS website. Some are freely available, but others require a membership to access. The core courses available for coaching high school basketball include "The Fundamentals of Coaching" and "First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches." The organization has many additional elective courses available, including "Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment," "Engaging Effectively with Parents," "Sportsmanship," "Sports Nutrition" and "NCAA Eligibility."
The NFHS has courses and certification available for every extracurricular high school activity customized according to each state's rules and regulations. The organization covers not only athletics but the administration of fine arts programs as well, including speech, debate, music and theater.
