Powered paragliding is using a backpack mounted motor with a propeller attached for lift and thrust to fly while in a harness suspended by lines under an inflatable wing that has no rigid structure. The pilot can launch himself into the air from level ground with no additional assistance.
A powered paraglider is the smallest aircraft and the easiest to learn how to fly. In most places a powered paraglider requires no licensing or certification, and its operation can be learned in few days. This aviation technique is also one of the safest methods of flying because even if the motor fails, the inflated wing is a parachute that allows the pilot to glide to a landing.
