Some of the most popular hiking trails around Amicalola Falls State Park include the Appalachian Approach Trail, the East Ridge Trail and the Mountain Laurel Loop. There are several other small trails that connect within the park, allowing hikers to plan longer hikes.
The Appalachian Approach Trail is an 8.5-mile trail that leads to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, a footpath that stretches from Springer Mountain, GA to Kathadin, ME. Before the creation of the new Appalachian Approach Trail, the East Ridge Trail functioned as the approach path to the Appalachian Trail. Both of these hiking trails provide views of the Amicalola Falls. The Mountain Laurel Loop is a one-mile trail that can be reached via the Spring Trail.
