Place your front foot past the middle of the skateboard, slightly behind the front trucks. Put your back foot on the tail of the skateboard. Make sure that the balls of your feet are in the center of the skateboard.
Bend your knees and slam down the tail of the skateboard using your back foot. Lift your back foot off the ground in a jumping motion immediately after the tail hits the ground.
Guide the skateboard higher by pulling on the grip tape using your shoe. Drag the side of your front foot along the skateboard's surface immediately after the tail hits the ground. Lift your knees as close to your chest as possible to create a higher ollie. Avoid leaning towards the nose or tail of the skateboard.
Revert to the initial foot placement, making sure that both feet are level with the skateboard. Bend your knees upon landing in order to absorb the shock of the landing and maintain control.
