The professional rugby league footballer Kevin Locke is a Maori, born in Auckland, New Zealand. As of 2014, he plays for the Salford Red Devils, who are part of the Super League. He played fullback for New Zealand in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup Final.
Kevin Locke initially played for the New Zealand Warriors, but he had a falling out with the Warriors' coach Andrew McFadden and was released from his contract. According to Locke, the coach forced him to play in positions that he didn't enjoy, causing him to start disliking Rugby League. He has, however, apparently regained his love for the game while playing with Salford.
