No official comprehensive count or report of deaths caused by extreme sports are kept by any sort of agency. However, there have been several deaths in major extreme sports events.
Red Bull's annual stunt events have the worst track record for deaths, with seven as of 2013. At the other end of the spectrum, the long-running X Games only just suffered its first death in late 2012. The Daredevil Death Watch is an unofficial count of deaths of extreme athletes that recorded a total of five for 2013. These numbers do not count deaths suffered by amateur athletes outside of major sporting events, which are much more difficult to get statistics on.
