The Seattle Seahawks have used three different logos since the franchise began play in 1976. The team used the original logo through to the 2001 season. The present logo first came into use in 2012.
The original logo featured the side view of the bird's head in royal blue and green. The logo adopted in 2002 was streamlined, removing the eyelid design for a more aggressive look, while changing the main colors to blue and midnight blue. The current Seahawk head design remains the same, though the colors have been updated to navy blue and silver.
Experts on the topic believe that the logo draws inspiration from a mask of the Kwakwaka’wakw Indian tribe native to the Pacific Northwest.
