Who Is Lou Saban?

Louis Henry Saban was a football coach who worked with high school, college and professional teams. He was also a two-year president of the New York Yankees. Lou Saban died in 2009 at the age of 87.

Lou Saban coached 16 seasons of professional football for several teams, including the AFL Buffalo Bills and the NFL Denver Broncos before the NFL merger. He also played for Indiana University and the pre-merger Cleveland Browns.

Nick Saban, another famous football coach, shares a last name with Lou Saban. Lou's wife, Joyce, said the men were unsure if they were related, but they may have been second cousins.
